Founded by Ryan and Carly Henry of Indianapolis, Indiana, INSPIREsmall.biz exists to provide a welcoming place for entrepreneurs to make meaningful connections and learn how to build a successful business. We believe starting and growing a business shouldn’t feel isolating, overwhelming, or reserved for those with insider knowledge.

We are a community-driven organization dedicated to supporting small business owners, solopreneurs, and professionals who serve them—through education, connection, and practical guidance that can be applied immediately.

Our Story

INSPIREsmall.biz began as Open In Indiana, a local project focused on connecting communities to small businesses through regional networking groups and an online business directory. What started as a local effort quickly revealed a bigger need: small business owners everywhere were searching for trustworthy resources, real connections, and clear guidance on how to get started and grow.

During the pandemic, that need accelerated. We expanded beyond local events and evolved into an online resource hub serving entrepreneurs in all 50 states, offering training, workshops, networking, and practical tools to help business owners adapt and move forward.

In mid-2021, we officially became INSPIREsmall.biz—a name that better reflects our purpose and our people. Today, we combine networking events, educational programming, marketing and technology consulting, and a growing media platform to help small businesses start strong, market smarter, and build sustainable growth.
